Inspiration From Eastern Europe

 I have a personal fondness for names hailing from Eastern Europe. I feel that they have a certain exotic appeal and many have beautiful meanings. I left out ethnic variations of popular names, mainly focusing on names deriving from specific languages, often actual words that are used for names.

  • Hella - "gentle" - Finnish

  1. There are some real beauties on this list! If I had to pick a favourite for a boy and a girl I'd go with Vesna and Rumen.

  2. Thanks for posting all of the Finnish names. I have Finnish ancestry but haven't been able to trace my family back very many generations. Ansa and Meri are especially pretty.
